Peace Day Project The International Day of Peace was established, on 30 November 1981, by the General Assembly of the United Nations, in resolution 36/67. The Assembly declared that the Day be observed, on the third Tuesday of September every year, as a day of global ceasefire and non-violence, an invitation to all nations and people to honour a cessation of hostilities during the Day. It invited all Member States, organizations of the United Nations system, regional and non-governmental organizations and individuals to commemorate the Day in an appropriate manner, including through education and public awareness, and to cooperate with the United Nations in establishing a global ceasefire. For the Peace Day Roots & Shoots members at Carson put up a huge white dove in the Main Foyer and gave out feathers for all of the studetns to write their reflections on peace. Later this reflections were put up on the dive. The result was magnificent! The Event Organization (meetings, date and time)   Ocotber 6, 2006 - help putting the feathers on the dove   October 2, 2006 - anyone who can please cut out the feathers                             and bring them to the 406 Coordinator:   Nicole, Parisa and Toranj Special thanks to:    Forrest, Elena, Jill, Nicole, Shadi, Jennifer, Parisa, Cara, [name] and Ms.Walton for helping out with putting up and cutting out the feathers.
